Australian Association of Financial Valuers
An IAV initiative
Membership
Membership to the AAFV is open to all individuals and businesses
Unlike other professional associations, the AAFV has limited membership opportunities. The AAFV has capped the total number of available memberships to ensure professional standards and integrity. Your ability to practice as a member of the AAFV has certain rights associated with it, which makes your membership unique as well as a financial asset. Being a member of the AAFV is not only highly regarded in the business world but is also a financially astute undertaking.
When you become a member of the International Association of Valuers you acquire a Professional Member Certificate (PMC). This certificate provides the member with certain rights. These rights include:
member benefits
- The right to call yourself a member of the Australian Association of Financial Valuers
- The right to use AAFV designations
- To charge fees in accordance with the AAFV recommended scale of fees
- The right to sell your PMC to other professionals for monetary consideration (terms and conditions apply)
- The right to lease your PMC to other professionals for monetary consideration (terms and conditions apply)
- To partake in the IAV’s ‘Valuer Exchange’ program
- Publish and sell or trade data, research, valuations and any other valuation-related materials through the IAV’s Athenaeum
Higher income potential: The AAFV has developed a recommended fee scale for use by valuers when quoting or charging for consultancy work. The IAV has endorsed the use of this scale by all members as evidence of the industry’s integrity and in recognition of the unique skills and expertise members of the AAFV possess. The fee scale may be downloaded here
professional membership benefits
The IAV has waived the requirement to purchase a Professional Member Certificate (PMC) as part of membership to the AAFV. However, as membership is limited, should a valuer seek membership but no membership places remain, they can gain membership by purchasing a PMC. This will effectively displace an existing member who does not possess a PMC at the time.
Further information on Professional Member Certificates can be found on the IAV website
